  6. French designer Christian Lacroix has teamed up once again with the Paris Opéra, creating costumes for George Balanchine’s Le Palais de Cristal ballet, on stage from May 10 at the Opéra Bastille.

Le Palais de Cristal is a George Balanchine ballet from 1947, written as an homage to the company of the Opéra de Paris; a ballet in four acts with George Bizet music and choreography that highlights the technical skill of the dancers. x

Additional information, Le Palais de Cristal was reassembled in 1948 for NYCB to become Symphony in C, Balanchine changed some of the choreography and the colour of the costumes for the whole 4 movements to white (previously he was using the themes of Ruby for 1st movement, Black diamond for 2nd, Turquoise for 3rd and Pearl for the 4th).

I’ve seen Le Palais de Cristal and personally I think it suits POB more than Symphony in C.

p.s. Message me if you’d like to watch the video of POB dancing it.
